Friends of RUDN Nepal, in collaboration with Mitra Kunj and the Russian House, proudly organized the 66th Anniversary Celebration of the People’s Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University), commemorating more than six decades of academic excellence and the enduring people-to-people friendship between Nepal and Russia.
The formal program commenced with a special video message from Ms. Marina Olegovna Rekets, Pro-Rector for International Activities of RUDN University, who highlighted the university’s global vision and strong international partnerships. The inaugural session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Buland Thapa, President of Friends of RUDN Nepal, with Ms. Anastasia Khokalova, Director of the Russian House, gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest. Welcome remarks were delivered by Prof. Khem Raj Dahal, followed by an anniversary address by Ms. Khokalova, emphasizing the long-standing cultural and educational ties between the two nations. In the same time, she also highlighted about good ties between Friends of RUDN Nepal and Mitra Kunj.
The second session featured inspiring presentations by distinguished speakers. Prof. Dr. Jung Bahadur Chauhan, former Ambassador of Nepal to Russia, shared his heartfelt reflections on Nepal-Russia relations and mutual friendship. He also shared his relation during study time of University. Second Speaker, Er. Vishnu Bahadur Singh, a renowned hydropower expert, spoke on the valuable contributions of RUDN and CIS graduates to Nepal’s energy sector. Similarly, the third speaker, Dr. Prakash Raj Regmi, a senior cardiologist with remarkable contributions to Nepal’s health sector, presented his humanitarian initiative, “Save the Children Heart Campaign Nepal,” which supports underprivileged children in need of critical cardiac care. Tokens of love were presented to the speakers by Er. Amod Kumar Thapa, Vice President of Friends of RUDN Nepal, as a gesture of appreciation.
The program concluded with closing remarks by Ms. Sushma Khatri Ranjit, President of Mitra Kunj, followed by a vote of thanks from Dr. Kulesh Bahadur Thapa. Final remarks and closing by Prof. Dr. Buland Thapa marked the successful conclusion of the event, celebrating friendship, cooperation, and shared aspirations for the future.












Farewell to Ambassador of Nepal to Russia Prof. Dr. Jung Bahadur Chauhan
Friends of RUDN felicitated Prof. Dr. Jung Bahadur Chowhan on 2nd December 2024. He is going soon to Moscow as an Ambassador of Nepal to Russia. On this occasion, Friends of RUDN handed over the Tamra Patra to his excellency. Prof. Dr. Jung Bahadur Chowhan is former student of RUDN and this is the first time that a Nepali alumni of RUDN has been appointed as an ambassador. In the same time, Nepal Russia Literature Society also handed over a Token of Love.
